Ministries

Outreach

The outreach ministry is for every Christian, as most often it is the Gospel ministry that is referred to in Scripture. While edification ministries have their biblical place, evangelism is at the heart of our Saviour who said,

“for I have come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Thus, it is the heartbeat of the local New Testament church as well.

Matthew 28:19, 20 says,

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

Missions

The Scripture teaches that missions endeavors are to be done through the local church. Our church supports several ministries worldwide through prayer and finances, and our annual Missions Revival is a 4-day revival service to challenge us in missions.

Door To Door

This mandate was not given to a select few, it was given to every member of a local New Testament church. Therefore we at Calvary Baptist Church believe it is our responsibility to take the gospel to the lost. That is why our door to door evangelism outreach ministry is among our most important ministries. You will not find many churches today that are willing to take their faith right to their neighbor’s front door. However, we believe as Paul did when he said,

“I am a debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.”

That is, we as Paul owe every sinner an opportunity to hear the gospel because of what Jesus did for us.

Maps are available every service to go out as often as possible, and our organized All Church Outreach days happen monthly on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. where we go out two by two and house to house.

The word Gospel simply means “Good news.” As Christians, we believe that God sent His Son, Jesus, to be a perfect sacrifice for the world’s sin, and that anyone who trusts in Him can be saved. Our church strives to take this good news out to as many people as possible through our weekly outreach efforts including door-to-door evangelism, outreach events at our church, and personal relationships.

Jail Ministry

A rotation of our church men meet weekly at the Riverside Correctional Facility in Winchester, CA. The men preach the gospel to the 10-20 inmates who show up, and souls are saved almost every week as men come face to face with God’s grace found in His Son, Jesus Christ.

Military Ministry

A rotation of our church men meet once or twice a month with a ministry to the new recruits in training at Camp Pendleton. Our men serve as preachers or prayer partners, seeing around a dozen men come to Christ each month.

Good News Clubs

A member of our church, Mrs. Lyn Cole, is the Southwest Director of all the Good News Clubs in this region. Our church is actively involved in public school Bible clubs through the Good News Club organization.

Music Ministry

Our music ministry is especially designed to be honoring and glorifying to God and uplifting to the Christian. We believe that the music ministry plays an essential role in preparing the hearts of God’s people for the proclamation of the Word of God. Our music is to be different and not identifiable with that which is secular music. Why? Because it is unique in its message, for it is to be Christ-centered; it is unique in its composition, for it is to be spiritual; and it is unique in its presentation and style for it is to appeal to the inner man and not to a fallen nature. Many of our Christian forefathers called the church music “sacred music” and thus it is, for it is set apart for the purpose of honoring Christ and edifying the believer. It is to fill our hearts with the wonder of our Saviour and the glories of heaven. Therefore from the congregational songs to the choir to the specials each piece is picked and prepared to make each service a memorable experience. Come and join us as we worship and celebrate our Saviour in song.

Choir

Our choir is a unique offering of praise to the Lord. Come enjoy many voices blended into one as we seek to give the Lord the glory due unto his name.

Orchestra

Playing skillfully with instruments is a biblical way to worship the Lord, and our orchestra adds to the beauty of the congregational singing each week.

Teens of Faith

For grades 7 – 12, the Teens of Faith class, led by Christian Saldana, meets every Sunday at 9:30 AM and every Wednesday at 7 PM in the youth room on the Upper Level.

Teens of Faith is a ministry that helps the family in rearing godly young people–the future leaders of our church.  Children are given to parents, and the Teens of Faith ministry is no supplement for parental authority but is approached as a help to the home.  While teens are trained daily through influences such as family and school, we maintain that a Christian is given certain spiritual gifts to be used in the service of the church.  The youth ministry of Calvary Baptist Church provides opportunities for teens to grow in their faith as they are stretched by consistent Bible preaching, accountability, trusted influences outside the home and ministry and outreach involvement.

Rooted – Young Adults

Colossians 2:6–7 says “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.” The Rooted class meets weekly and helps young adults build a strong foundation of faith while enjoying Christ-honoring fellowship with other Christian adults.

When you join this class you can expect fellowship meals outside of regular class time, retreats, and spiritual support.

See Pastor Ryan if you have questions.

Merry Hearts Ladies Class

Proverbs 17:22 says “A Merry Heart doeth good like a medicine,” which is why the ladies of the Merry Hearts Sunday school class meet together each week to be spiritually encouraged, challenged from God’s Word, and inspired to live for God.

When you join this class, you can expect to be lifted up in prayer, enjoy organized fellowships outside of regular class times, and receive love and care throughout the week.

See Mrs. Christine Welsh if you have questions.

Lively Stones – Young Families

1 Peter 2:5 says “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.” The Lively Stones meet each week to learn how to navigate the transitions of life by understanding and applying God’s Word. This class has an emphasis on building up young families for the service of the Lord in His local church.

When you join this class you can expect to enjoy fellowship with like-minded couples and support for young families.

See Bro. Nathan Rench or Bro. Greg Wuchner if you have questions.

Fellowship Class – Pastor Rench

Acts 2:42 says “And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.” The Fellowship class meets weekly to grow in their understanding of the Bible and to fellowship with like-minded believers in a similar life-stage.

When you join this class you can expect to hear practical Bible lessons that are intended to grow a person’s faith.

See W.M. Rench, Pastor Emeritus, for questions.

Ambassadors Bible Class

2 Corinthians 5:20 says “Now then we are ambassadors for Christ.” The Ambassadors class meets weekly to dive deep into the truths found in God’s Word. This class is ideal for mature Christians that would like to expand their knowledge of the Bible.

When you join this class you can expect to enjoy restaurant fellowships with other believers along with a community of adults in a similar lifestage.
