Our guest preacher, Pastor Waterloo, has been an indirect blessing to our church for several years now.
First, he was one of my professors in Bible college, and he taught me how to study God’s Word in our Hermeneutics class. I’ll never forget that, nor can I ever repay him for his service to me. But here we are today… still studying!
Second, he was instrumental in helping to shape Bro. Christian Saldana’s view of God, church, and Christians. Bro. Christian was a member at Central Baptist Church in Ponca City, OK, for a while, and met regularly with Pastor Waterloo for counsel and questions, and Pastor Waterloo helped him through a pivotal time in his life. After that, Bro. Christian went to work as a staff intern and received valuable ministry training before he came here to be our youth pastor.
I’m so thankful for Pastor Waterloo’s investment in our teens this summer, too. His preaching helped all of us who were there—not just the teens—and I’m so glad he’s with us this weekend.
And we have kept him busy! He’s doing the couples retreat, preaching all the Sunday services, investing in our deacons, and investing in our staff on Monday. Whew!
Let’s treat our guests well today.
God bless you.
