A Great Time of Fellowship
The Memorial Day softball game and picnic last Monday were a great time for us to fellowship together.
Acts 2:42 “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
The fellowship of God’s people is an important part of being a family. People can “gather” online in Facebook groups around common hobbies, but nothing replaces face-to-face interaction. And, time together apart from services is good for us!
Someone told me, “I didn’t recognize you. I only ever see you dressed up.” As nice as dressing up for church is, it’s nice to “let your hair down” a bit. Hypothetically speaking, of course. *sniff, *sniff.
All bald jokes aside, it is nice to be together, to play together, to laugh together, to talk together. It is just nice to have the time beyond church services. “I can’t get to know anyone there.” Most people who say that regularly forsake the assembling of both worship and fellowship times. Come to think of it, I have never once heard a friendly person say that (see Prov. 18:24).
Fellowship is family gathering time. It is different from worship, teaching, and praising, yet, Covid taught us it is just as crucial.
