The girl at the Taco Bell drive through window last Sunday night saw our kids and said, “Wow, you’re all dressed up!” I said, “Yeah, we’re coming from church.” When I tried to hand her an Easter invitation, she just said, “No, I’m good.”
I get it. Not every encounter happens at just the right time.
But a couple of days later, into the church walked Aaron and Shai, and they were searching! We talked about Jesus, went through the Scriptures on what he did for us on the cross, and then we talked about how so many people live for themselves. Life is so much more than that, though.
When you give the Gospel or invite someone to church, they might be like Taco Bell girl or they might be like the couple that came by—either “nah, I’m good,” or “I’d like a Bible, please.”
Our job as Christians is not to only go to the people who are searching, but to “spread the seed” far and wide. Cast it on all kinds of soil—some seeds will take root, and other seeds will get eaten up, blown away, or choked out by this old world. Sow anyway.
Who are you inviting to Resurrection Day services? See the next page for how you can be a part of reaching our valley for Jesus Christ.
