“Forgiving yourself” is a common phrase you’ll hear these days, and it comes from deep-seated stuff in your past. Today’s sermon can be for everyone, but I think it will be ESPECIALLY helpful—perhaps lifechanging—to a handful of people. Even if only one or two people get that kind of help from it, I’ll be happy.
I won’t be dealing directly with the “forgiving yourself” phrase necessarily, but I just want us to see from the Bible what God has to say about the past informing our future. Some people are wallowing, waffling, or wilting because of their past, and that is not what God has called us to.
This is about your beliefs—isn’t that one of the reasons we’re here in church, to strengthen our beliefs? Let’s talk about that today.
