-bulletin note from Sunday, April 7, 2013
I thank the Lord for all those who turned out for the different “Cottage Prayer Meetings” last week at the different host homes. Though there were fewer people who participated than we had hoped for, all those who were involved benefited greatly from the opportunity to pray together for the Revival meetings. I’m praying that the Lord will especially bless and help every one of you who did come and pray. Really, none of us recognizes the value, purpose, and power related to prayer as much as we ought to. When our prayer requests as a church family become pretty much only about physical health, political issues, and personal freedoms rather than about the needs of the soul, the burden for the unsaved and the desire to see God glorified, it reflects our great need for revival. For this reason, God has gifted his churches with the ministry of the Evangelist. I pray that every person here this morning will seriously heed my admonition to be here for the preaching this evening at 6:00 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. This is more important than game practices, homework, TV shows, and all the other things we get distracted by. Make a commitment to the Lord you will be here and come with a heart open to God speaking to you through the preaching of his word, “and all the more so, as ye see the day approaching.”(Hebrews 10:25)
