Choir Note-Sunday, June 23, 2013
Absences. If you are going to be tardy or absent from a practice or a service, please let me know. I will track it on my calendar and know that I can make adjustments as needed. Remember the form you signed a while back? For some of you it was when you first joined choir and for others it has been a couple of years… one of the agreements to being involved in the choir was that you would avoid the “they will never miss me” mentality. Please view your role in choir as an important position and worthy of your diligence.
Music. Please remember to turn in past music. Each song is listed on the schedule. If you have someone else’s number or if there are problems with the numbering (ie you have a duplicate book), please let Sarah know so she can resolve the issues. We want to know exactly where all our music is and not blame you or someone else for lost music. Please do not use someone else’s book. Also, if you have copies of a certain AND the book it’s from, please use the book and turn in the copies after you’ve let Sarah know about the duplicates. We are working on weeding out as many copies as possible, and Sarah is doing a good job of trying to keep up with all the music. Please help her by turning in your music every week.
Chairs. Please remember to replace your chairs in choir practice each week. It will help us be more prepared for our youth class.
Practice with a Pencil. As a general rule, expect to mark up your music every time we practice. Don’t go on your memory. Mark every little breath mark or tie. Doing so will save time in choir practice and allow us to work on things that will improve not only technicalities but also tone and interpretation. Write everything down. I haven’t written that in a while. J
Boundless Love. Trio… nice job. You too, choir.
