Can you tell when a teacher hates his class at school?
Yep.
They sigh a lot. They have a look of dread each day. They hate their lives.
I promise you… that’s not me. I love this class! And I love seeing you each week. Seriously! This is what I love to do, and I hope it shows.
I think you inherently know when people really love and care for you. We instinctively pick up on love. We can smell the difference between love and duty. Some people do things because they have to; some because they want to. Can you tell the difference? I think you can.
Can you tell when someone is trying to help you? I hope so, because all I want through this class is to be a help. Whether you see it or not right now, the biggest thing that will help your life is if you live by biblical principles. Like I’ve said before, it’s all about eternity. My way of helping you is to communicate that message pretty much every week.
Learning to love and live the Bible is not just for pastors to do. It’s for all Christians!
And it’s not about the “drudgery” of obeying some book. It’s a blessing and a joy! I spoke last week about dwelling with God from 1 John 4:12-16. Dwelling means abiding, staying around, etc. It’s like… hanging out with a friend! Obedience to God is not a duty; it’s a pleasure. He makes everything better. Everything.
I want you to learn to love God and His Word. Can you tell?
