See, it wasn’t so hard now, was it? When we started our “Lost But Found” song, it was overwhelming. You wondered if you would ever get your part down. You wondered if the song would come together. You wondered if we were crazy for attempting such a difficult song.
Well, now we’re on the other side, and it sounds great! It is definitely coming along, and as we plunk away at it week after week, it is getting better and better. I have said it before and I’ll say it again: Don’t let difficult songs derail you at the outset. Do not give up. Do not throw in the towel before struggling with it first.
Vision is about expecting the future and being willing to wait for it, patiently doing what you know to do in the meantime. If you have a vision for what a song could be, the song no longer becomes overwhelming. It is a challenge, yes, but not an overwhelming one. In fact, to me, these types of challenges are energizing rather than derailing.
Enjoy the process rather than curse it. Enjoy the stretching, the challenge, the struggle. It will help you and others, ultimately. Are you expectant? Can you be patient? It will pay off, I promise.
