Okay…so today’s note doesn’t have much to do with Mother’s Day, but I had to throw it in there.
Today’s lesson is actually a continuation of last week’s lesson from Prov. 30:5-6. We started talking about how God preserved His Word from the time it was written till now.
Ever thought about that?
How do we know that the Bible we read today is exactly what God wants us to have? Mormons teach something different. And Muslims do too. And so do all other religions.
So how do we know OUR Bible is right?
Well, WE are part of God’s preservation process (“preservation” is “preserving” something, or keeping it safe, like my wife makes strawberry “preserves” or jelly to make the strawberries last). That’s where your godly mom comes in. As she seeks to know God and live out His Word, she sees the Word work in her own life and in her family’s, so she continues teaching it as the real thing.
Believers have done that since the beginning. We’ve lived the Word, loved the word, and protected the Word from all of Satan’s attacks. In a sense, good moms help preserve the Word of God.
The Bible is a supernatural book, and God promises to supernaturally protect it. We can trace the history, we can research it to death, but GOD is ultimately the one who will protect and preserve His Word the way He wants.
We believe that the King James Bible is the protected, preserved Word of God, because of several reasons we’ll discuss today. Here are some of the Scripture references talking about preservation:
- Romans 3:1-2
- Psalm 12:6-7
- Psalm 33:11
- Psalm 100:5
- Psalm 105:8-10
- Psalm 111:7-8
- Psalm 117:2
- Psalm 119:89, 152, 160
