Valentine’s Day encourages people to the giving of expressions of love for one another. Our Saviour has given us the greatest and purest sense of the expression of love, in his sacrifice of Himself for our redemption. Valentine’s Day is a time for giving sweets and flowers and cards to our loved ones. Our Lord Himself is the Rose of Sharon, and the Lily of the Valley. His is the sweet incense for the Holy place, the sweet-smelling myrrh, and His words the sweetness of honey and the honeycomb. The Valentine’s card He gives his child is opened to read, “I have loved thee with an everlasting love,” and “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.” What Love!
