The premier requirement which is demanded of you if you want to be part of the political, social, or theological left is that you abandon any insistence on having the truth. Those who would base life choices on truth rather than feelings are held it the deepest contempt by those who have been successfully indoctrinated into the morass of leftism.
Thinking people would much prefer to operate on the basis of what is true rather than what is felt, but it would seem that the social structure of this present day is not dominated by very many thinking people.
A case in point: Recently, in Connecticut, a new state record in high school girl’s track was set in one event. In fact, the first and second place runners both exceeded the old record. And yet, this feat was happily celebrated by the public-school system in Connecticut, despite the fact that the first and second place runners were actually boys, who self-identified as girls.
But the inability to discern truth is not just a recent phenomenon. Pilate was standing in the very presence of the Lord Jesus Christ, who Himself had said, “I am the way the truth and the life…” when Pilate declared his blindness, asking, “What is truth?”
The touchstone, the cornerstone the foundation of truth is the Word of God. When the foundation is abandoned, there is nothing but shifting sand to build on. Perceptions, feelings, emotions, intellect, theories, opinions…these are shifting changing things. They don’t make for good footing to build and live our lives upon.
It is little wonder those caught up in the current culture have lost their way. But the foundation of truth, the Word of God, and the God of that Word are still where they have forever been. “Ask and it shall be given you; Seek and ye shall find; Knock and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7
