The little hyper-Calvinist boy tripped at the top of the stairs. He tumbled down to the landing, battered and bruised. Picking himself up he exclaimed, “Boy, I’m sure glad that’s over with!” Those who follow John Calvin’s philosophies tend to think of life’s events as pre-ordained by Him, with each individual destined to live out the details just as they were beforehand set forth in God’s plan.
The Biblical truth is quite different from Mr. Calvin’s erroneous and self-contrived views. The fact that God knows what each person does and will do, does not demand that He pre-ordained the events and details of each life. It means what the Scriptures teach concerning it, that God has complete foreknowledge. It means what it says when it tells us that God knows the end from the beginning. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. He is the author and the originator of time itself. We are unable to comprehend it fully, but God is not confined to the bounds of time.
No, God has not pre-destined the vast majority of all mankind to Hell without any hope of salvation as Calvinism proposes.
