With the tremendous preaching from last week, we are charged up to head into December as the month to celebrate the birth of our Saviour. If you missed even one service, go back to our sermons page at cbctemecula.com/sermons to watch or listen to it! You will be blessed by the life of Jacob–-faults and all.
1 Timothy 3:16 sums up some foundational doctrines of the faith, beginning with the incarnation of Jesus Christ as God: “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.”
That’s the beauty of this season. That the high and holy God wrapped flesh around his deity and condescended to our state. For us. Philippians 2:6-8 says, “Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
It’s not just about the baby, cute as He may be. It’s about the ignoble death of the cross that He suffered for us.
