More Special Updates!
I love Wednesdays! We have some special updates for you, and here’s a sneak peek at the new few weeks:
Bro. Keenan S. Preaching. Tonight and next week, we’re privileged to have Bro. Keenan S. preaching for us on the topic of discipleship. I’m so excited to get “The Ins and Outs of Discipleship” to see what discipleship is and should be for all of us. Bro. S. was instrumental in training people who would become disciplers themselves, and although his technical expertise is in media and education, his heartbeat is in ministry discipleship. I’m excited to hear some of that come out tonight.
Split Sessions. You’ve seen the hallway signs and announcements about our split sessions coming Sep. 1 and Sep. 8. The men will meet in the sanctuary and the ladies will meet upstairs for times of testimonies, prayer, and encouragement from different people in the church. I’ve always loved hearing from the men in these unique settings, and I know the ladies enjoy their own time, too!
New Series Starting Sunday. Our new sermon series starts this Sunday as we will go verse by verse through the book of 1 Corinthians. I started this book back in 2013 when Richie B., Josh and Hannah H., John L., Issabelle B., Skye M., Giovanna R., and a couple others were promoting from 6th grade into the youth group. That summer, Bro. Christian interned with Joe Monds, and we too two years and 70 sermons to complete every verse in the 16-chapter book.
I think our series will be even longer, but the book breaks into neat little sections and we’ll treat it like mini-series about preaching, wisdom, marriage, spiritual gifts, church discipline, the resurrection, and many more topics that the book covers. It’s a heavy book and I’ve read hundreds of pages in preparation for this Sunday’s sermon… and I’m still not ready! Please both pray and come prepared to grow every week as we call the series BE WHAT YOU ARE: A GOSPEL-CHANGED FAMILY.
I’m also excited for you to meet some special guests of ours this Sunday. More info in Sunday’s bulletin (or the Friday church email.) -Pastor Ryan
We’re praying for missionaries in Ireland and in Sri Lanka this week. Please email the church for more information.
