A Wonderful Couple of Weeks!
God blessed us with two wonderful Sundays in a row. The services were encouraging, and the guest speakers were a blessing.
It was great to have Bro. Jackie Elwart and his family with us two Sundays ago. His family is just settling into Big Bear, and that area needs a good Baptist church. I pray that God uses them up there.
Our missions budget is just about even right now–what comes in, goes out—and we had planned on supporting other church plants this year (Riverside, CA, and Dearborn, MI), so I told him before he came that we are not able to take on new missionaries at this time. He told me that was no problem and that his goal was simply to meet the area churches and wanted to be a blessing to us.
Well… he was! We were able to give him about $1,500 from our offerings that day, and we have an outreach day scheduled for those who would like to go up there to help pass out flyers before their grand opening.
And last Sunday night, we enjoyed an update from Bro. Arturo Garza, who’s doing a great work in Durango, Mexico. During his testimony, he was halfway teasing about having us come visit, but afterwards, he straight-up asked me, “Do you want to come this October or next October for our missions conference?”
Uh… um… Yes sir! Looks like this October is free!
We plan on being in Mexico October 20–23, 2022, and you’re invited! It’s a 2-hour plane trip from Tijuana, and we will have a light day schedule and a church service each evening. Beyond that… I am not sure. It was lost in translation! But whatever it is… it will be great to see the needs of one of our missionaries and help out in any way that we can. More details to follow.
The last two Sundays made me so excited for our upcoming Missions Revival. I believe God will use that in your life. Keep loving people.
