It seems as though many Americans are just now realizing that death is a reality! The sad truth of the prospect of dying from a virus is real, but no more so than so many other ways that people die.
Little concern seems to be given to the 88,000 deaths each year that are directly attributable to alcohol consumption. Opioid overdoses alone take the lives of some 50,000 Americans each year. 55,000 more die each year from pneumonia and the common flus, although these be well down the list as far as leading causes of death.
Heart disease and cancer combined took the lives of a staggering one million two hundred forty-six thousand Americans in 2018. If our news media were giving us daily reports of all these deaths daily, it would be quite depressing indeed, but it would reflect the reality of death, and maybe cause more people to seek what the Word of God says about preparation for death. Those who come to repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are born again. Though we may face a physical death, we already possess an everlasting life!
John 3:6-7, That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
