Suggestion for all those unwanted calls you get from scammers and salespeople:
If it is at a moment where you have a bit of time, you might listen and see if there is an opportunity to speak to them about the Lord. I had a call last week from a man with a strong Filipino accent. He gave me an English name and said he was from the Social Security Administration. I asked his badge number, and he gave one. I said, “Your name isn’t really David McKinsey is it? You are calling from the Philippines, aren’t you?” He went on a little longer with his ruse about calling concerning my social security.
I said, “David, I am a Christian, and God sees and hears both of us right now. I don’t think you really work for the Social Security Administration, isn’t that right?” There was a long pause on the line and he said, “I am a Christian too, and you’re right, this is a scam. I’m sorry.” I said, David, I don’t need to know your real name, but you know that God does. He said, “Yes I know. I’m quitting this job. I took it when the Pandemic hit, and I couldn’t find work.” I reminded him that if he would get right with God and trust Him and pray, that God would open a door for him to provide for his family. He thanked me profusely and reiterated that upon hanging up he was going to quit the scam job. I am believing he did. A side benefit – I haven’t gotten anymore calls from that scam company number!
Hebrews 4:12, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
