Tonight is our last showing of A CHRISTIAN CHRISTMAS CAROL, and it wraps up what has been months of work from our church family.
I am so thankful for the work that we have tried to put into this, and so proud—for lack of a better word—of each person who was involved. We cannot guarantee results, but I am convinced that as we put in the effort to be faithful and excellent, God will bring the results.
Our commandment is to preach the Gospel to every creature. We don’t create the converts, God does that. We don’t coerce conviction, the Holy Spirit does that. We don’t save people, Jesus does that.
We are just the vessels God uses. What a privilege!
I have been praying for results, of course. I have been praying that lives would be changed and that people would trust Jesus Christ.
But I have also been praying for our church the way Paul prayed for the church in Ephesus:
Ephesians 1:17-19 “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
“The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power…”
Paul prayed that they would know God, see his calling, and experience his power. I want that for our church too.
I want every guest who came to our church this week to come back next week. I want to help more and more and more people all the time.
But what kind of help will we help them with? Let’s be the church that God wants us to be, and that will change Temecula for the better.
God bless you!
