Tonight is our final show of A Christian Christmas Carol, and it is in place of our normal Sunday evening service.
You might have thought you were being given a program for the play, but we just changed the cover and this is our regular bulletin. Today is the Lord’s Day, and although it is an evangelistic emphasis, it is still a day of worship for those of us who are already Christians. We never want to neglect the One who this day is all about!
I love the Christmas season, and I love the focus on Jesus Christ. Take some time this morning to prepare your own heart to worship the Lord today. Pray and thank God for sending his only begotten Son to save us from our sins. Worship him in spirit and in truth today.
We’ve been praying and preparing for this weekend for a long time—several months. We could say that it’s been years in the making, and I’ve been praying that we could not only plant and water some seeds, but that we can see some harvested this year, too. I know God wants to see people saved, and we have the message of the Scriptures for the answer to their sin. Let’s use every possible means to declare the Gospel this entire weekend!
Next Sunday night, I am excited that we get to have a little “Family wrap-up” service and just thank the Lord for all that He has done through this Christmas play. Be noticing now who’s doing the little things that no one would ever notice.
Church, thank you for such incredible service to the Lord! This weekend is truly excellent and God-honoring, and I pray that God blesses you for your service to our community “for the Gospel’s sake!” (1 Cor. 9:23)
