I’m convinced that the greatest need of our day is for God’s people to study the Bible. Oh yeah… and obey it, too.
Jesus did that in Luke 4. When He was tempted, He quoted Scripture and then submitted to it. Knowing the David-and-Goliath Bible stories is a good start, but we also need to live them.
This year’s Preaching Rally theme was “It’s All About the Bible,” and our Sunday school series has been on Bible study– but the motivation will only last through the sermon. Then you go home. The rest is on you. Are you up to the task?
We have to fully believe the Bible. Once you really believe in God, judgment, joy, etc., it completely changes you.
Maybe you have friends who are atheists, and you don’t know what to say when they start bringing up YouTube arguments against God. We pray that today’s preacher will help you understand that the Bible is completely reliable.
We gave all the teens a starter devotional that will take them through the next 10 weeks. It will touch on Philemon, Psalms, Ephesians and Nehemiah–all good Bible passages to study. If you would like to purchase a devotional for your own Bible study, please see Ryan Rench.
If you used to have the habit of Bible reading, but let it slip… don’t beat yourself up about skipping. Just get back up and go do the work. It’s not easy, but it is simple: wake up, talk to God, listen to God, obey God.
