Welcome to church! Today is going to be a great day as we worship the Lord and hear from His Word.
Pastor Frank Wood retired from pastoring a few years ago, but he has stayed as busy as ever, traveling the country in his RV and preaching at churches like ours. His calling and gifting is still as a shepherd of people, so he is more of what is called a “Pastor at Large” than an evangelist.
I love hearing from men who have been pastors, because they can preach to us from that unique perspective of experience. I appreciate that, and we need that. I encourage you to be here all day to hear his preaching. God bless you! -Pastor Ryan
GIBF MEETING RECAP
Last week, our family went to Phoenix for a preaching conference. Every sermon was a great help, and we were out until midnight each night with ministry friends.
MONDAY. On Monday, Pastor David Hetzer preached on the differences between the GRACE and SWORD approach, and showed how David and Solomon responded differently to a similar situation. The point was that life is not about a formula—“grace every time” or “sword every time”—but it is about seeking the Lord’s WISDOM for each situation.
TUESDAY. On Tuesday, Pastor Billy Ingram preached about the 10 spies who said, “We be not able!” versus Caleb and Joshua who were EAGER to take the promised land. Which spirit ought we to be of?
Then, Pastor Jeremy Reagan preached on the MERCY of God. Like Hydrogen Peroxide automatically reacts to an open wound, God’s wrath automatically reacts to man’s sin when it comes in contact, so there needs to be a barrier between them—that is God’s mercy and longsuffering!
That evening, Pastor Kerry Nance preached a powerful message on what it took before the miracle of thousands of conversions in Acts 2—it took the humble submission of God’s people to pray and obey the Word of God in Acts 1.
WEDNESDAY. Bro. Zach Klassen preached one of my favorite sermons of the week, applying Ezekiel 37 to us preachers—God commanded Ezekiel to preach to dry bones so he would learn to trust GOD over his FEELINGS.
Then, Bro. Rick MacQueen preached on the ABUNDANCE God has blessed us with, not only as individual churches, but when we come together, we can make an ETERNAL impact! For example, the Church Planters Conference distributed about $50,000 total when I was in college, and last month—after 20 years of coming together—churches gave over $950,000!
Joel Haynes finished the week by preaching from Acts about living a life that is REAL. Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5 were deceitful, but the young men who carried them out learned an up-close lesson to just be real!
We hope to host another one of these meetings in 2026 to encourage Christians to come together for the great cause of Christ!
