Years ago, for a funny skit, I took an old Willie Nelson song called “Mammas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” and changed the words. My version was, “Mammas, Don’t Let Your Cowboys Grow Up to Be Cowgirls!” Little did I imagine back then that some segments of our culture would so rapidly become so largely void of plain common sense. The simple fact is that male or female gender is determined at conception. It is a function of biology and not “feelings.”
The obviousness of this fact does not seem to occur to those in the liberal spectrums of education and the entertainment industries. The concern there is “what do you feel like,” and “how do you identify,” etc. I recall the story of the boy who went to his mom with concerns about his dad’s strange behaviors. “Mom,” he said, “Dad’s been going around the house making clucking sounds and saying he’s a chicken! Should I call a psychiatrist?” Mom said, “No, leave him alone son, we need the eggs.” We don’t seem that far removed from such jokes becoming the news of the day soon! Just because you might want to “identify” as a chicken most of us are not going to accommodate and celebrate you. It’s not a biological issue we are talking about, but an issue of mixed up thinking.
The following is from an article recently published by the Family Research Council.
The American College of Pediatricians (ACP) has publicly condemned changing the gender of minors calling it “abusive.” The organization explained their position in an article on their website titled, “Gender Ideology Harms Children.” It states, “When an otherwise healthy biological boy believes he is a girl, or an otherwise healthy biological girl believes she is a boy, an objective psychological problem exists that lies in the mind not the body, and it should be treated as such.” The article goes on explain that many as 98% of gender confused boys and 88% of gender confused girls eventually accept their biological sex after naturally passing through puberty.
Genesis 1:27-28 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them…”
