It was 37 years ago today that our church chartered. Since then, we’ve been connecting people’s lives to God through Christ, through truth, and through each other.
That’s what church is about. It’s a family. It’s a community of believers all focused on the worship of their Father. It’s a place saturated with God’s Word.
This is a special day for us for several reasons. First, as mentioned, it is our 37th anniversary.
Second, our Pastor Emeritus is preaching both morning and evening services. I am so thankful for Dad obeying God’s call to come to Temecula to start this church, and for his faithful preaching all these years. It was three years ago today that he retired as senior pastor, but I don’t think he has slowed down a bit!
Third, today is special because we are taking the month of May to focus on Congregational Singing. The best music in our church is not the choir or the ensembles… it’s YOU! I love singing together, and it is an important time to teach and admonish “one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
God is our audience, so sing to the Lord. Sing with understanding. Read the Scriptures and stories associated with each hymn and allow the song’s truth to resonate deep in your soul.
