If I learned anything during Covid, it was to not trust a word of the media! We are just now seeing some of the lies being uncovered, and I hope the general population is starting to see some of what we have known all along.
However, not even CNN could cover for President Biden last Thursday. The DNC is in full-scale panic mode right now, and the RNC is riling up with equal fervor.
We tend to think Trump is in charge. Or Biden. Or Soros. We tend to think right-wing or left-wing when we get caught up in politics, debates, and nations. I preached a whole sermon two years ago this Sunday on the sovereign guidance of God in our country, and this Thursday we get to celebrate our nation’s 248th birthday. I am thankful for this country and love the freedom that we have—freedom of religion being the primary benefit! We can freely worship today because of this great nation we live in.
But what if we did not have America? What if the debate were not the highlight of last week? What if we were Christians in the first century being hunted down for our faith? What if we were Baptists in France being driven to the mountains during the dark ages? What if we were in Nigeria today, worshiping in the rubble of our church building after it was burned down this week?
In America, freedom is a luxury. It is our responsibility to not waste it by focusing on the wrong thing. As much as the media wants you focusing on them—Biden’s collapse is good for ratings, after all—God wants you to keep your eyes on HIM.
