The Missions Revival is our only multi-night revival this year, and the focus is taking the Gospel to the world. That is what we ARE and what we DO as a church, and I can’t think of anything more important to be a part of.
That ol’ Deceiver will make you think work and school are more important than God, and Satan will do anything to keep you away from church this week. You’ll be tired, you’ll have car trouble, you’ll have emergencies at work, you’ll have fussy kids, you’ll have homework, or you will just not care to be a part of each service, but ALL of those excuses are overcome if the price is high enough.
If there was a $100 million dollar pot of gold waiting for you if you got to church every night for three days, would you do it? Or if it was a life-or-death situation for someone you love, could you make it?
I fully understand that some people truly do face the dilemma of wanting to attend, but they cannot. I know that.
But I cannot stop inviting you! I am talking to those who might let excuses get in the way of this important week. If I am accused of talking about faithfulness to church too much, I can shoulder that. I can think of a lot worse things to be accused of! Who else in your life is encouraging you to be in God’s house? The world? Certainly not.
Even if it is not your typical habit, I encourage you to be here for every service this week. Tonight at 5:30 p.m. we will have a potluck meal and service in the Fellowship Hall. Tomorrow (Monday), Tuesday, and Wednesday from 5:45 – 6:45 p.m., we have a free catered meal in the Fellowship Hall so you do not have to worry about dinner, and the service starts at 7:00 p.m.
There is nothing more eternally important than the Gospel, and this week’s emphasis is about the Gospel work throughout the world. What a blessing to know the truth and share the truth!
