Dr. Henry Tompkins wrote of the amazing brain in a recent Acts and Facts article. Regarding its vast computational powers, a group of Stanford University scientists discovered that a single synapse (a function of signal connections in brain activity) is like a computer’s microprocessor, containing both memory storage and information processing features.
Tomkins wrote, “An average healthy human brain contains some 200 billion nerve cells connected to one another through hundreds of billions of synapses. To put this in perspective, one of the researchers revealed that the study’s results showed a single human brain has more information processing units than all the computers, routers, and Internet connections on earth.” According to the author, the memory capacity of the brain, by conservative estimates, is in the range of what is stored on the entire world-wide-web.
It has become overwhelmingly clear that evolutionary theory is an embarrassing failure in its attempts to explain the complexity of the brain. The brain’s efficiency, power, and complexity, points to an all-wise Creator.
Ps 139:14, I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
