We Prayed, and God Answered
SO much goes into a day like last Sunday’s Fall Festival, and when you’re catching your breath on the other side of it, it’s so encouraging to just stop and think about all God did.
That’s what Sunday night was about. I loved talking through our stats. It’s not gloating or boasting to count the blessings of God—HE gets the glory! I suppose if He modeled His orderly ways to use (for example, an entire book of the Bible is called Numbers), then I believe we have a good biblical basis to count the numbers and glory in what God did!
Unsung Heroes There were SO many people doing so many things, there’s no way we could recount them all. The Fishers made that day with their food, but Ruth Miller spent weeks on decorations leading up to it. Jim Record went around with a bag of ice-cold water for the workers, and Nicole walked laps with the horses without a break. What about the men who painted the railings black, or the ladies who filled the gift bags? Do you know who invited the lady at the coffee shop, or the man who donated all the pumpkins? There are so many unsung heroes, and only God knows all you had a part in. We could never list them all, but I’m SO THANKFUL for all that you did to make Sunday happen.
Outreach We passed out thousands of flyers for this event, and most of our guests came because of someone they knew here. People came from flyers on their door, from flyers at restaurants, and by finding us online.
