‘Tis the Seasons For ALL To Be Involved
As we’ve learned from our Sunday series through 1 Cor. 12–14, every gift, when done in love, is important and needed. Every member is here on purpose and with a calling from God, and we all have a part in edifying one another.
On Monday, our staff met about how to involve as many people as possible as we prepare for the Christmas season. Your involvement is not incidental… it IS what ministry is about. And it’s all for the purpose of seeing souls saved and added to the church so that they can grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
As we saw last Sunday night from John 4, Jesus’ mission was to do the Father’s will, and the Father seeks worshipers. So, Jesus talking to the woman at the well was not just a nice story… he was doing the Father’s will! He was seeking such to worship him.
So, at the end of everything we do, we try to help people worship the Father as He desires. We’ll have days where teams come in to assemble welcome boxes, and we’ll have outreach days to pass out flyers, and we’ll have set-building days to construct the London street backdrops, and we’ll have costume-sewing days to help set the scene… but all of it is so that Scrooge can preach the Gospel. And Uncle Fred. And Tiny Tim. And Bob Cratchit.
It’s all for the Gospel! 1 Corinthians 9:23 “And this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.”
This Sunday, we’ll talk a little bit more about it. Stay tuned!
