Final Wednesday of the Year, Final Sermon of the Series
E. M. Bounds’ book Prayer and Praying Men has been the foundation of our latest Wednesday night series, and I have been helped by reading the prayers of the men and women of the Bible. They are no different from you and me.
In fact, they are our examples, and, tonight, we’ll spend some time reading about prayer from the Apostle Paul. There’s no way we could cover every reference to prayer from Paul or about Paul, but we’ll end our series with the New Testament call to prayer—lest you think prayer was just a special thing of the Old Testament.
Tonight we’ll look briefly at some of the TEACHING about prayer, showing how much of a way of life it was for himself and the people he taught. And then we’ll look at the CONTENT of their prayer requests—what kinds of things did Paul and the churches pray about?
