Happy New Year!
Last Sunday, we talked about saturating your mind with the Word, and allowing God’s truth to determine our thoughts. The very best way to do that is to know the Word, which means reading, studying, and hearing the Word regularly. I was so thankful for all the testimonies on Sunday night about where you are in your Bible reading. It was such a simple thing, but for those who AREN’T in their Bibles, I think it was also a challenge to them to get into the Word for themselves! Maybe some of you were thinking, “Don’t call on me… don’t call on me…” Uh oh!
Start small. At least open the Bible every day next year.
I heard after the service from many more who didn’t raise their hand for a testimony. Chris Rangel showed me years’ worth of notes from the sermons preached on all the first Sundays of the year. We preachers always hit similar themes, and she used her sermon notes to recall some of the past encouragements to get in the Bible.
Others texted me later that week and talked about how the WORD is what has carried them through tough times in 2025. Still others told me after the service of their Bible reading plans, and how close they are to finishing. I love it.
Get in the Word. Kids, teens, adults… get in the Word! Stay in it!
Being in church is a great way for you to end one year and begin the next. Tonight is focused on the Word. Bro. Josh Rowley is in Bible college, studying to be a preacher, and tonight he’ll be preaching God’s Word to us. I’m so excited to hear what God laid on his heart, and I want it to help me be a better Christian in 2026!
Let’s grow together in God’s Word this year. -Pastor Ryan
