Preparing For the Christmas Play
Prayer. Please pray fervently this week for souls to be saved.
Outreach. Spread the word to as many people as possible!
Deference. Please defer the best seating to our guests. If there’s an option for something better, let them have it.
Helpfulness. You know your way around here, but guests don’t. Look for ways to help people.
Excellence. Let’s each do our part to make this the best year yet! Whatever your role, ask yourself, “How would Disneyland do this?” May we do as much for the King of kings! 1 Cor. 14:12
Kindness. In your zeal for excellence, do not let it stress you out. Sometimes your area becomes more important than the overall goal, so in order to keep an efficient line moving, you’re barking orders! Keep the spirit of love in what we’re doing.
Service. Look for ways to serve. Anticipate needs. Whether it’s a trashcan that needs to be emptied, or a guest that needs a playbill, find ways to serve people.
Gospel witness. Use the fellowship time before and after the shows to greet guests and show genuine concern for their eternity. This may be the only time we have with them, so don’t be afraid to say something like, “It was so nice to have you with us for the play. Thank you for coming! Was the message about Scrooge needing to be saved from sin something you’ve ever thought about before?”
Something like that. Something to help people think about themselves in the play.
Thank you for all your amazing work, church. Please pray! –Pastor Ryan
As you pray this week:
- Pray for the MESSAGE of the play to resonate deeply in every heart. May the gospel be clear, compelling, and life-changing for all who attend. “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” – Isaiah 55:11
- Pray for the CAST AND CREW. Pray for strength, health, focus, and a spirit of unity as they prepare to share this beautiful story. May they glorify God in every moment! “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” – Colossians 3:17
- Pray the AUDIENCE. For everyone who will be sitting in those seats. Pray for softened hearts, open ears, and a willingness to respond to the gospel. Pray that the seed of the gospel would fall on soft soil. Whether they come seeking joy, hope, or answers, may they find Christ at the center of it all. “And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” – Luke 8:15
- Pray for the DETAILS! This would be the lighting, sound, transitions, and every aspect that supports the play. Even in the details, we want every aspect of this play to bring glory to God and point others to Him! “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;” – Colossians 3:23
- Pray for SALVATION! Pray for souls to be saved. Pray that the message of redemption will shine through and that lives will be changed forever. May this Christmas play be an opportunity for many to know Jesus as their Savior. The harvest is ready. Let’s pray earnestly for God to do a mighty work! “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” – Luke 19:10
