The Life and Impact of Jesus Christ
Last week we continued our series in the Gospels on the life of Jesus Christ, having covered the INTRODUCTION of the king with three points:
- The ARRIVAL of the king (his birth)
- The AMBASSADOR of the king (John the Baptist)
- The APPROVAL of the king (his baptism and temptations).
We didn’t quite get into his temptations of Matthew 4, so we’ll look tonight at how Jesus can fulfill this wonderful verse: Heb. 4:15 “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
Jesus understands us fully, having lived as a human and endured all the same temptations that we face, yet he also perfectly modeled for us what complete dependence on God looks like.
The next section covers the AUTHENTICATION of the king, according to the notes shared for our study from Pastor Tom Brennan (printed booklets at the Resource Desk).
