Steady Faithfulness in the Right Direction
A good rule to live by is to just keep going in the right direction. We cannot “wow” people into the Gospel or try to always provide “the next big thing” to try to get people on track, but I firmly believe in encouraging you to steady faithfulness in the right direction.
The Christian life is not easy, but it is simple. Just keep going for the Lord.
Ten years from now, you will be shocked how quickly you grow spiritually, but it probably will not be from anything big. We do big events like we did last Sunday, but if you never say, “Wow, the Family Weekend was great!” but you keep a steady faithfulness in the right direction, you will have a great family.
I didn’t do a whole lot with my family this week—not earth-shattering things. Nothing real expensive. No vacations, trips, or life-changing conversations.
We put up a little 8’ pool, and we played Wii together, and we laughed at some make-believe characters our kids have made up. Nothing big, but very, very special.
Stay on the right course. Keep going. Do the right thing. Follow Jesus.
