The kids in Master Club love “Miss Janice,” (Mrs. Janice Duke). She often has one or other of the preschoolers on her lap during so part of the Master Club sessions. She told me how Charlie came to her last Wednesday, with a serious countenance. He placed his hands on her cheeks and his face almost nose to nose, so that he might have her undivided attention. “Miss Janice,” he began, “I have some bad news for both of us.” “Oh Charlie, what is it?” Janice asked. With furrowed brow, he continued, “I had a fever and was throwing up yesterday, so I can’t sit on your lap today!”
Contagious things have a way of affecting those we are close to. We don’t necessarily want to spread our germs, but it is true that whatever we have, can be “catching.” The sour mood of a few can sour the atmosphere in a room, but on the other hand, we have all heard of someone described as having a contagious laugh. Our spirit does affect those around us, for better, or for worse. What are others “catching” from you?
Proverbs 15:15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
