Hello!

I am already getting excited for summer camp. What a great year it was last year with Pastor Jon Pyle preaching, and this year will be another great week with Pastor Jason Jett preaching. More on him below.

Camp Director

My name is Ryan Rench, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Temecula, CA. I will be coordinating our California Baptist Youth Camp again this year. It is a camp I started back in 2013 through Ironwood, back before custom camps were a thing, and we have done it almost every year since.

Location

Ironwood Christian Camp
Newberry Springs, California

Dates & Arrival

July 20–24, 2026 (Monday–Friday)

  • Arrival: no sooner than 2:00 PM
  • Orientation: 4:15 PM

Preacher – Pastor Jason Jett

My friend Pastor Jason Jett will be preaching. He pastors the Eastside Baptist Church in Sioux Falls, SD, and preaches several camps every summer.

He is a gifted Bible preacher with a great sense of humor that connects well with young people, and his illustrations are memorable. I promise you will love him.

Note: Next year we plan to have Pastor Dean Herring preach.

Cost & Payment

Total Cost: $381 per person

  • $366 – check to Ironwood
  • $15 – check to Calvary Baptist Church, Temecula (speaker fee)

One adult per cabin staying with the campers is half price.

Each church should collect payments through your own system, not through Ironwood.

Payment is due when you arrive at the camp registration office on Monday, July 20. No payments are due before then, as Calvary Baptist has already covered the deposit.

Our church collects the final balance from parents one week before camp. This allows time for follow-up with those who miss payment.

The camp will provide each church with an invoice based on the actual number of attendees you bring.

Camp T-Shirts: Each church may design and handle their own camp shirts if desired.

Camp Philosophy

In the same way that basketball players go to basketball camp to become better basketball players, I believe church camp is a place to become a better church member.

While we have seen many campers saved over the years, most of our campers are faithful teens already involved in their youth group.

We encourage strong local church unity through church huddles after services, churches staying together in cabins, and music and dress standards that reflect what is taught at home.

Please email me at [email protected] if you have any questions about our camp.

Dress Code

As culture continues to change, churches that remain distinct will grow increasingly more “weird” to the culture. I understand that. But I also want to protect against immodesty, and that is where dress standards come in.

Last year was the first year I have ever had to battle this so hard. This year I am determined to be much clearer.

Please prepare your campers to bring clothing that covers the thigh to the knee. Ironwood staff will no longer be enforcing this standard for us, so I will be personally asking for your help in enforcing this camp-wide.

Ladies

  • All clothing must come to the knee
  • Knee-length skirts or dresses for evening services
  • No slits above the knee
  • No tight shirts, low necklines, or exposed midriff
  • Tank tops with exposed straps only permitted at the lake during girls’ swimming
  • Leggings are not appropriate outside cabins

Men

  • Shorts must come to the knee
  • Evening services require neat attire
  • No muscle shirts or exposed undergarments

Everyone

  • Follow camp rules going to and from the lake
  • Towel or shirt may be used as a cover-up
  • Ironwood may ask anyone to change if attire is outside guidelines

I say this with respect and love, and deeply appreciate your help in modeling biblical modesty for our teens.
