Choir Note – Sunday, October 6, 2013
I don’t mean to make too much of this, but you as choir members are examples to everyone. I do not say that to lift you up in pride—all of us are mere servants of God—I say that to add weight to what we do each week.
You are visible to everyone in church every week. You might think, “No one notices me. I just blend into the choir.” Wrong. You are up front. You are noticed. You are a visible part of the ministry of Calvary Baptist Church.
Do you take your responsibility seriously? I trust you do.
Be an example in every area of life. On Facebook, don’t gossip. Don’t be involved in gossip. Don’t be a liar. Don’t be ugly. Don’t spread junk.
Like purely in your everyday life. Live like Christ. Be holy. Do right.
In church, be an example. Be a part of doorknocking. Come to Saturation Saturday. Serve in our Pie Fellowships. Help clean up after big days. Volunteer for nursery. Come to church! Be here every Wednesday and Sunday.
I just preached last Sunday that if it’s worth having, it’s worth working for. Are you serious about your walk with God? Are you a true disciple of Christ like you should be? If so, the things I just mentioned are NOT a list of “rules,” they’re just common sense. People see godly disciplines as “rules” when they are self-focused. True disciples of Christ don’t ask “Why can’t I…” They ask, “How will this benefit my relationship with Christ?”
Are you a true disciple of Christ? If so, live as a godly example. Whether you like it or not, your position in choir adds a certain level of obligation. Are you up for it?

SUNDAY LINEUPS – With regard to last week’s note, we may eventually be switching the seating chart up a little to facilitate a better blend and to accommodate the orchestra a little better.
TURN IN BOOKS – Please see the schedule below to turn in all past music. We especially need Heaven’s Jubilee and I Stand Redeemed so that we can inventory our books and determine our future purchases.
