Choir Note- Sunday, July 7, 2013
For what it’s worth, great job on the last two months’ practices.
I think the beauty of church choir is not the music that we create each week, but the sacrifice and the time that goes into our practices. The beauty is that each week you sacrifice a nap, more time gets added to your spiritual bank. Another beautiful thing is that it often doesn’t even feel like sacrifice or service… it’s actually FUN!
That’s just the beauty of serving God. That’s the beauty of spiritual gifts—that God GIVES you spiritual gifts that you are uniquely designed to love to use. And then when you use them, He blesses you for using the gifts He gave you to use! And all the while, you enjoy using them! Nerdy organizers love organizing things! Compassionate people love showing compassion. Givers love giving. Preachers love preaching. You get the idea.
Praise God that we can come together each week and do what we love and still get “credit” for serving God. It’s a beautiful system God’s made. It’s a self-refreshing cycle powered by God. How neat.
So, in light of that, it almost seems a bit redundant to thank you for serving God for the past few weeks. To me, it’s a pleasure, and while I enjoy a break now and then (like next week), I definitely do NOT dislike what we do each week. So again I say, for what it’s worth, thanks for all the hard work. It always “pays off,” and even, “pays back.”

NO CHOIR NEXT WEEK – Because of the work we’ve put into today’s cantata, we will not have choir practice next week, July 14.
MRS. CARLA COLIN – Thank God for Mrs. Carla Colin using some of her experience to help track and organize a lot of the music closet. She is spending a couple days per week here at church helping me get some projects organized. Sarah Anasarias will still distribute the music while Mrs. Carla will help organize what’s there. We will be transitioning most of the music questions eventually to Mrs. Carla, and Sarah will continue as our “Postmaster General.”
