Our LA Church Planting Trip is a ministry trip that is meant to encourage the church planters and open our eyes to what inner city church planting is about. If we are going on a 4-day trip to minister, we are working to make sure we are taking a group of people who really WANT to serve others. This trip is not a fun, free trip for everyone. It’s free only for those of you who are putting in the work to qualify. And most of you ARE qualifying. In fact, it’s kind of easy. All you need to do is maintain an average around 1,100. The last time we did this, everyone who went to Alaska maintained that average over several months. And, yes, sadly, we cut the people who did NOT meet the average.
If you lie about it, that’s between you and God. We’re only two weeks in, but my wife and I can already tell who’s REALLY doing it, and who’s NOT doing it. Don’t lie on the sheets…that would be kind of like…backwards from what we’re trying to accomplish here! 🙂
What we REALLY love is that you’re getting into the discussions. The guys’ class has been a little different with recent topics we’ve been on, but the discussion has still been really good. I’m always surprised by the quality of answers that are given in class. Everyone who has spoken up has been insightful and interesting, and has taught me something new. I LOVE learning things I never saw before! I know the ladies’ class is full of all kinds of crazy talking, too!
If you’re nervous to speak up, don’t be! You have GREAT comments, and you’re helping everyone else by speaking up. Oh, and we don’t always want to hear from the same people on each question, too!
Soooo…check out the back of the announcement sheet. We’ve color-coded this thing to see the people who are falling behind (red), the people who are right on the line (yellow), and the people who are doing fine (green). We want to make sure you stay in the GREEN! 🙂 If you fall behind, that’s okay. It’s easy to catch up. Just don’t let it go too long.
Once again, this is NOT about getting the right answers. This isn’t even about the trip. This is about YOU and GOD being together through the week. How’s it been going? Whether you see it or not, it has helped you already. Seriously. It’s awesome. Keep it up!
