Do you have your skits memorized today?
Because guess what? Comedy Night is in three weeks!! Crazy, right?
Comedy Night is no laughing matter. It’s time to get SERIOUS about being funny! These last three practices we have will be crucial to our comedy!
I’m joking about how intense we’re being about Comedy Night. It is definitely NOT a serious night.
But we ARE serious about you practicing and doing well with your lines. There’s nothing funny about being un-prepared or putting on a show that appears thrown together. I know you do not want to waste people’s time, so do your part now to work on your skit.
See, what we DON’T want is for people to think, “Eh. It was okay, but it didn’t seem like they tried that hard. No one knew what was going on. The lines were sloppy. They didn’t even practice!”
I HOPE that’s not what they say after our performance. I HOPE people enjoy themselves and want to keep coming back year after year. If we want people to enjoy themselves, we have to do a little work.
Are you up to it?
I’ve heard from some of you that you’re already practicing: memorizing lines, gathering props, working on your accent, etc. That is awesome. Keep up the good work!
