Note from Sunday, November 17, 2013
We generally do 2 camps per year: Summer Camp and Winter Camp.
These are some of the biggest trips that we take because they are the ones that are filled with the most preaching. Other trips we take have different purposes (like Missions Trips or Bible College trips), but camps are for you to get away and hear from God.
Summer Camp. This Tuesday, I have a meeting with Mr. Sam and Marshal Allen at Freebirds. We will be talking through a ton of details for a special Summer Camp this coming year. I don’t know all the details yet, but here’s kind of how it will work this summer… We will use their facilities and do games and activities with the whole camp, but during the services we will have our own preacher in a separate room. I have several reasons for this that I will possibly share with you later. For now, I ask for your prayer. It won’t be much of a change this first year, but it could grow into our own custom week where we host several other churches, as well. Please pray for wisdom as we work to plan.
Winter Camp. Coming soon, Bro. Donny and I will meet to plan out our Winter Camp. We are going to the same campground as last year (in Wrightwood), but Liberty will not be there. Good news and bad news. The bad news is: we are cutting out one night. We will only stay one night. The good news is: we will have just about the same amount of time up there, and the cost will be cheaper (about $110 instead of $130 or $135). We used to go up late Wednesday night, have a service and go to bed. This year, we are going up Thursday morning, having a service, playing, having another service, going to bed, then having the whole next day, as well. It will be the same amount of preaching—that’s what really matters.
So, if you can, plan now on going to both camps. They’ll help you.

MEN’S PRAYER BREAKFAST & SATURATION SATURDAY – This Saturday. MPB at 8:30am and SS at 9:45am.
I’m Alive, Alert, Awake, Enthusiastic (song 170)
I’m alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic!
I’m alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic!
I’m alive, alert, awake,
I’m awake, alert, alive,
I’m alive, alert, awake, enthusiastic!
To God Be the Glory (song 1)
To God be the glory, great things he hath done!
So loved he the world that he gave us his Son,
who yielded his life an atonement for sin,
and opened the lifegate that all may go in.
Chorus:
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the earth hear his voice!
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
let the people rejoice!
O come to the Father thru Jesus the Son,
and give him the glory, great things he hath done!
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
to every believer the promise of God;
the vilest offender who truly believes,
that moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
(Chorus)
Great things he hath taught us, great things he hath done,
and great our rejoicing thru Jesus the Son;
but purer, and higher, and greater will be
our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.
(Chorus)
