We should always be growing spiritually.
That’s a given. But what does “growing” look like?
Well, whether you see it in yourself or not, spiritual growth is often very evident in you from the outside looking in. Meaning, others might see growth in you that even you don’t see yourself.
A few areas that I’m pleased to see spiritual growth in is your service. I think back to myself when I was in high school, and I don’t remember serving at church near as much as some of you. I appreciate the guys who came down on Friday to just… weed. That’s a HUGE help! It’s service. It’s a blessing. It’s a mark of spiritual growth. Willingly serving without expecting to get paid takes amazing spiritual maturity.
Another sign of spiritual growth has been the extra day per week that some of the guys are coming for a special class. That’s an extra day of emphasis on God’s Word. It’s a sign of spiritual growth, and it’s one of my favorite times in the whole week. Seriously.
One more area is your faithful attendance to Saturation Saturdays. I know you don’t just come for the food, because we never promise a meal. I know you don’t come to just hang out (although that’s a fun part!) I know you don’t come because you just feel obligated. I believe you come to Saturation Saturday because you love the Lord and want to be obedient to Him. Praise God! That’s spiritual growth.
Spiritual growth shows in SO many different ways, from church attendance, to encouraging notes, to your spirit and attitude, to what you post on Facebook. It shows. It’s evident.
Even when YOU don’t see it, we do. Your youth pastor sees it, and I love it. LOVE it. Praise God for your spiritual growth. That’s what life is all about.

Let the Words of My Mouth (song 48) Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord, (repeat)
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord.
A Living Sacrifice (song 49)
I beseech you therefore, brethren,
By the mercies of God, the mercies of God, the mercies of God,
I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God that you present your bodies a living sacrifice.
Holy, acceptable, acceptable unto God a living sacrifice
Which is your reasonable service unto God,
A living sacrifice.
And be not conformed, conformed to this world;
A living sacrifice
But be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, a living sacrifice.
That ye may prove what is that good and acceptable,
And perfect will of God
That ye may prove the perfect will of God,
A living sacrifice.
