Happy Fathers Day.
Dads are cool. Dads can do anything. Dads are tough. My dad can beat up your dad… from the pulpit, that is.
Whether you have a great relationship with your dad or not, you need to thank God today for where he’s put you in your life. I don’t know where each of you are in your walk with God or in your relationship with your dad, but I can tell you this: you have a heavenly Father who loves you even more than your dad does.
That’s cool.
My dad’s pretty tough. But my Father can beat up my dad. Know what I mean? My heavenly Father is way bigger than all my problems or fears or worries. He’s on my side.
Dad loves me, but my Father loves me more. My Father loves me so much that he sent His Son to die for me. Dad never sent my brother to die for me (sometimes I wish he would have!) My Father has tons of mansions. Dad just has a trailer he converted to a house. My Father has streets of gold. Dad lives on a dirt road with potholes. My dad’s a preacher, but he’s not original… he just repeats what my Father said first.
So anyway, Dad’s great, and I thank God for him. Every time I’m up at 3am with Abe, I thank God for my dad. While my life has been great with my dad, some of you might not have been able to experience a dad like that. Hey, you’ll live 70ish years here. You’ll spend eternity with your Father.
