Without the resurrection, we’d all be wasting our time here today.
Read 1 Cor. 15 some time and you’ll see what I mean. Paul basically said that everything he ever lived for would have been worthless if it wasn’t for the resurrection.
The fact that Christ has power over death is what makes Christianity unique. The fact that Christ rose from the dead is what separates us from religions. Catholics still have Christ on the cross, and they worship his mother. Muslims can visit their founder’s grave and find bones. Buddhists have a statue of their dead leader. We visit Christ’s tomb and it’s empty!
You may have heard it a million times, but never let Christ’s resurrection get old. We “celebrate” his resurrection as we meet together on the first day of each week—the day of his resurrection and the day they met for church in the Bible (that’s why we don’t do Saturday services). Christ’s resurrection drives everything that we do, and one day we will be resurrected with him. What an amazing thought!
I figured that we would stay in our Daniel series today because most of our day will already be focused on the resurrection. Let this note serve as your reminder of Him today.
