Every Tuesday around 3pm I’ll be going out on visitation. Sometimes I’ll be visiting church members who have missed a few weeks. Sometimes it will be guests who attended the Sunday prior. Sometimes it will be teens.
Most of the time, visitation is a little bit different from regular door-knocking in that the person is already familiar with who we are and why we are there to see them. We simply offer a friendly invitation to return to church, and if God opens the door for us to talk more, we do. Sometimes the people have come to church because they want to know more about the Lord. Sometimes they are looking for a church. You never really know what you’re in for when you go on visitation.
Note from Wednesday, October 16, 2013
So, because I’m going out every week, I may give you a call some time and see if you’re available to come with me. I like the accountability and the time together one-on-one as we’re just driving all around town. It will help you see how a simple visit is made and it will give you one more chance to be a part of our church’s outreach. You can be a powerful prayer partner as we go house to house reaching out to those who God has brought to us.
Maybe there will be a list of you who want to do it every week, or maybe there will just be one of you who says, “Any week you’re open, I want to go.” Just let me know. I started a couple weeks ago, and I’ll be going pretty much every week.
Want to come?
-Bro. Ryan

He Has Made Me Glad (song 154)
I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart,
I will enter His courts with praise.
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made,
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
He has made me glad. He has made me glad,
I will rejoice for He has made me glad.
This World is Not My Home (song 156)
This world is not my home, I’m just a passing through
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue;
The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
O Lord, You know I have no friend like You,
If heaven’s not my home, then Lord what will I do?
The angels beckon me from heaven’s open door,
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
They’re all expecting me, and that’s one thing I know,
My Savior pardoned me and now I onward go;
I know He’ll take me thro’ tho’ I am and weak and poor,
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
I have a loving Savior up in gloryland,
I don’t expect to stop until I with Him stand,
He’s waiting now for me in heaven’s open door,
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
Just up in gloryland, we’ll live eternally,
The saints on every hand are shouting victory,
Their songs of sweetest praise drift back from heaven’s shore,
And I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.
