Choir Note-Sunday, June 2, 2013
Choir’s growing in size (well… numbers, I should say!) We’ve added several new members recently. We’re happy to have Alyssa Solie back in the lineup after returning from West Coast, and after Paul and Carla Colin joined the church they immediately jumped into choir. What a blessing! Also, Kyle Rodecker has been sitting in recently, and Mrs. Brenda Tagliavia will be starting after sitting in for a few months after Nannette joined. Amen! Renee Bailey is official ever since she got fired from Kid’s Choir, and Rachel Bailey will be joining us for the Patriotic Cantata as she did for the Christmas Cantata (bandwagon member! Just teasing. She plays for the Kid’s Choir during our practice times). Others of you are sort-of-recents, while the rest of you are just old news by now!
We are also growing in our music repertoire. Over the past year we have added several new songs. Some were upbeat Sunday evening songs and others were simple 3-part songs. We have about a one-year repertoire built up now and we’re always adding new ones. After the Patriotic Cantata we will add one new song per month from the blue book, as your upcoming schedule indicates below.
Finally, we are growing in excellence. I believe the choir and the whole music ministry has developed not only a more beautiful sound but also a greater appreciation for excellence along the way. With the weekly practices, the weekly notes, your weekly faithfulness, the few major music events and the Choir Workshop that we had this year, I really have seen a great change in the choir and it is really exciting to hear and see! Praise God!
Keep up the good work and keep growing. Just… not physically, that is. The choir loft only has so much room.
