If you have gone through our church’s discipleship program, much of this series has been review. I like review. I need review. The only things I remember are the things I review. I have heard some incredible truths preached over the years. Er…at least I think they were incredible. I can’t really remember. I’ve heard a LOT of preaching. You know what I do remember? The mantras. The things I was quizzed on. The deep convictions that were reviewed and reviewed by key people in my life.
I want this series to be that for you. One of the reasons I like written material is for the review factor. One of the reasons I preach a lot of the same concepts to the teens (love God, love others, do right, for example) is the review factor. They will remember what was emphasized in their lives, and I think the best thing to emphasize is that which Jesus Himself said was the greatest commandment of all (see last Sunday night’s sermon). If you are to be firm on some Bible reasons as to why you are a Baptist, it will take review. Here goes…
