Gender has been on my mind lately.
We just got back from the men’s meeting in Newport Beach and I wrote about that last time.
In addition, I’ve been in communication with our 2015 Preaching Rally preacher. The theme will be on gender, and he and his wife are going to be flying out and doing a split session for one of the sessions (this is next, NEXT year we’re talking about.)
So, gender has been on my mind. Particularly, MY gender. Manliness.
I want you to be manly.
I hate sissies. Okay… I don’t HATE them… I just get so sick of sissies. Man up!
The sodomite and metrosexual movement in America has sissified the men of our culture and has “butched” our ladies. This culture is decidedly anti-God, and it is reflected in sissy men and manly women. Feminism is the woman’s push toward equality and men have bent over backwards to accommodate.
I’m not blaming you for America’s problems.
Or am I?
The whole Gender Series was about being 100% masculine and 100% feminine. Are you?
I often ask the question if you have taken any steps toward a blurred gender. Steps might look like a little bit sissified… not ALL the way sissified. Just a little.
Men, be manly. Be tough. Don’t cry. Be strong. Step up. If you get hurt, hide it. Don’t let video games be all you know. Be a man. Learn a trade. Stretch your mind.
I’m burdened that more men don’t want to go repelling. It may be a small thing, but if it’s because you’re too scared… man up! I got the sense when I took a show of hands that a bunch of the guys were timid about going repelling. What is that?!

If I were a girl, I would NOT want to put my trust in a boy who’s scared of everything. If my house were being robbed and I were married to you (if I were a girl), I wouldn’t feel very secure.
I hope you men desire to develop as manly men. If you DO want to be manly, show it. Worry LESS about your clothing and hair. Worry MORE about learning to work, learning to fix things, learning to get stronger, learning to treat a lady properly and be a protector and… you get the idea.
The word manly has a lot of different connotations in this culture. Christian young men should be the epitome of manliness.
Someone’s going to read this and get mad. If it’s a guy, you’re what’s wrong with America.
Don’t complain about work. Treat your mom right. Get dirty… and stop caring about it. Sweat. Get bloody. Don’t cry about your cold. Smile when you don’t feel like it. And go repelling. See you Saturday.

LADIES’ ACTIVITY – Sleepover at Mrs. Jamie’s house! Nov. 15-16. 8pm Friday – 11:30am Saturday. Cost is free, no door-knocking on Saturday. Bring a snack to share.
MEN’S ACTIVITY – Repelling with Bro. Si. Cost is free. Saturday, Nov. 16, 12:30 – 7:00pm. If you don’t know what repelling is, it’s when you tie a rope around your waist and throw yourself over the edge of a cliff and hope someone catches you. Sure sounds fun, right? It is! Eat lunch on your own before coming. Brink snacks and your own water, if you want it.
