Today in our staff meeting we just starting working up some details for Summer 2017. Crazy, right?
But we have to begin planning this early for a few reasons, mainly because what you are doing NOW will affect what you will be able to do THEN.
You say, “Whatever do you mean, Bro. Ryan?” with a confused look on your face…
Well, the LA Church Planting Trip is not the only missions trip we plan to take. While we have NOT worked out ANY of the details (or even contacted the first missionary, for that matter), we HAVE decided that we plan on going overseas to visit some of our missionaries in other foreign countries.
You know what that means? Shots. And passports. And fund-raising. And planning. Lots of it.
Thankfully, we know a few people. We’ve got connections all over the world? Want to visit underground churches in China or Kazakhstan? We know some people. Want to go to Hawaii? We support a couple church planters there. Want to go to the Pacific Islands, Europe, South America, the 10/40 window, or Africa? Well…we support people in ALL those places.
The hardest part in planning is deciding WHERE to go! It seems like every missionary that comes through our church says, “Come visit us on the field!” How do we decide?
Well…we’re pretty sure we know where we’re going, but we don’t want to reveal anything yet until we know for sure. It will be…somewhere. In the world. Outside of America. A plane trip away.
That’s all I know so far.
All that is to say this: Whether you’re going to the LA Trip or not…your AVERAGE POINTS will still be counted toward the 2017 Missions Trip, too. Each person will be assessed on a case by case basis, but a big part of qualifying for NEXT year’s trip is if you qualify to go on THIS year’s trip, too.
