I was talking with a Pastor friend who is leading a group on a visit to Israel and Greece this fall. He said travel by Americans to Israel has burgeoned in the past year. He asked the travel agent why and was told that it had a lot to do with President Trump’s moving the U.S. embassy to its proper place in the capital city, Jerusalem.
As expected, when the move was begun, the enemies of America and Israel within and outside the U.S. screamed out in protest, predicting that such a thing would destabilize Israel and the entire Middle East and possibly even plunge the world into chaos. To the alarmist’s embarrassment the opposite happened and Israeli-American relations have much improved.
The President seems to be aware of what any of us with common sense know, that no amount of appeasement and concession to those who hate America and Israel will suddenly make them love and adore us. The hand that says “Gimme” never says “Thanks, that’s enough.” Proverbs 30:15, The horseleach hath two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:
One reason for the President’s successes despite the unrelenting attacks from the leftist media etc. that he has weathered, could well be his willingness to support Israel. It seems he has not been like so many of his predecessors who under-valued the truth of this promise from scripture, Genesis 12:2-3, And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
